The key challenges
Lack of real-time, transparent data/limited visibility of inventory and production |
Non-integrated business processes |
No effective support for customer services/inability to meet customer demand for collaboration and information |
Inability to support new corporate strategies |
The solution
The project started in June 2006 and included the delivery of the broad scope of SAP functionality covering:
Sales and Distribution |
Finance and Controlling |
Productions planning and quality management |
Materials Management |
Analysis & Reporting using Business Warehouse |
Derivatives Handling |
Back office processes were:
Human Resources and Payroll |
Plant Maintenance |
Project systems |
Using the latest version of ECC 5.0 and NetWeaver technology, LGS developed a solution for Cane Management System (CMS), which is critical to Sugar factories and their geographic locations. LGS proposed to restrict CMS to few critical functions, which could enable factory operations to continue in case of network outage.
Cane Management System
Plantation Management |
Cutting Order Management |
Cane Transport Management |
Seed & fertilizer Management |
Cane Accounting |
This involved complete overhaul of CMS with reduced but critical functionality. LGS documented the method of operating & maintaining these new CMS so that the work of SRSL’s IT support staff has been reduced to only maintaining the new CMS applications.
